A year ago today....

I know I was really excited about having a date with someone. It was Tuesday and after having gotten up the nerve the previous day to call Susy and asked her out to an Imax movie today, the 18th. I had tickets for a premiere night. On the 16th we had gone out after work with another guy. It had been a rough show and we needed to relax a little, plus I had a crush on a certain someone. I can't believe you can still have crushes at 27. I had asked Susy out to dinner that night just to hang out and get to know her more, I also asked Matt just so it didn't feel too awkward for her, how was I suppose to know she was just as much into me as I was her. After some BP we headed to Castle Fun Park for some mini-golf. It was fun, but the real fun was after dropping Matt off. I had wanted to hang out some more but was a little shy about coming up with a way. Well the way found me. There was a bad accident on the bridge and we decided to go to Timmy's in Abby and hang out some more. We got to know each other and at the end of the night I had her number(I know all the guys are like SCORE!). It didn't take me long to call even though I was nervous, I called the very next day asking to the movie on the Tuesday(18th). Much to my excitement she said yes. Well the movie happened, kinda, we were a bit late but none the less saw it. Afterwards we went out, talked, hung out some more, pretty much just couldn't get enough of each other. I can't remember how long that date lasted but I think it was in the teen hours, as in more then 10. And when I did finally drop her off we kissed for the first time. My God I haven't been that nervous about kissing someone in a long time. I was shaking. Any ways the very next day we were dating, well I think official it kinda started after another very long date, I think it was 16 hours. Well and as they say the rest is history. We're still together, very much in love, and I couldn't be happier. Tomorrow marks the official 1 year of being together but today was a huge day for us, our first date. From that date I now have the most beautiful, loving, kind and sweetest girl ever. I love you so much Sue your the most amazing thing that's ever come along in my life. I can't wait for the next step in our lives, and I know every step from now on will be with you. And for those of you wondering, I haven't asked her yet, nor will I tomorrow, but that day is coming fast. Happy anniversary of our first date Susy. And Happy Anniversary of 1 year together tomorrow. Love you

Friday the 13th

I was reading the newspaper 24 hours on the way to work this morning(I was on the dreaded skytrain again) and it had this article about the origins of mythology behind Friday the 13th and why it's known as a bad day. There was a part in it I found kinda humorous that I wanted to share so here it is;

Focklore has it that in the 1800s the British government decided to take strong measures to prove the fallacy of the Friday superstition. They laid the keel of a new vessal on a Friday, launched her on a Friday and named her HMS Friday. They hired James Friday as the captain and sent her on her maiden voyage on a Friday....and was never seen or heard of again.

That's not like me at all

Tie
So I'm feeling a little out of place today. This morning when I got to work and went to put on my tie I had some issues. I was having one of my 'Bad Tie Days'. It gets very frustrating some times. Basically to solve the tie issue I tied a single windsor knot instead of my usual doouble. Let me tell you as far as ties go, it's like wearing someone elses underwear! Ever since the days of upgrading from a clip on to a real tie I've always tied a double windsor. It just doesn't feel right on my neck. Anyways for the last hour I keep having to touch it. I'm going to try going the day with it and see how I feel. Man other peoples underwear would feel creepy.

UPDATE: I did manage to go the whole day with it. Mind you after an hour I wanted to tear it off and redo it again, but I stuck it out.

The most precious thing in the world!

Ok besides Susy.

The littlest one of the family hasn't been well lately. Looks like just the flu and teething though. I talked to Mommy today and Kya very briefly (long enough to say turtle). I could hear her making a lot of noise in the background which means she's got her energy back. She was all excited to go out in the "no" (snow) with Mommy and Daddy. It's a relief to hear she's better.

Kya

Brandy (mommy) and kya might be coming down next week which is very exciting, we miss her. We do miss you too Brandy but your not as easy to hold and your burping isn't as cute as Kya's. Plus I know you can say turtle.

She doesn't get to see me often so it sometimes takes her a bit to get un-shy around me, she runs right to Susy though, even to hide from me. Her favorite show is 'Memo'(Finding Nemo) and since everyone always calls me Uncle Neno maybe I can get her to call me Uncle Memo when we see her. Mmm it's close enough.

I'll post some new pictures of her playing in the 'no' once my sister posts them.
Love both of you sis

Rain? What rain Noah?

So apparently we are getting close to breaking the record for consecutive days of rainfall in a row. We're at 23 days right now and the record is 28. My question is, how come after 23 consecutive days of rain people still can't drive in it?

Susy's car

So if you've been following Susy's Blog lately you would have already read of her car troubles. So after a few days and dollars work on it this morning the same thing happened. Well I went to the rescue, again, and she took my truck to school. I sat there for a bit to see if anything changed, nothing. I then called BCAA to have it towed to a shop. While I was sitting there waiting it dawned on me, hey maybe its just the fuel filter clogged again! So I hopped out in the pouring rain and gave it a little knock to loosen any dirt that might have gotten in there. Low and behold it went. How could we have missed that? Well I had assumed since we just changed it when she ran out of gas before that it wouldn't need changing again. Could it be that simple? I had it towed to the shop any ways.
Update: As I was writing this the shop called. Turns out not to be the fuel filter, its worse, somethings wrong with the carburetor. Yeah that's not good, fixing that is more then the car's worth. Now I have to figure out a way to get it to Mission. Hopefully it will just have a good day and be able to drive it out there. Maybe I'll wait till after rush hour.

Argh... What was I thinking?

Ok I don't know what I was thinking today. Once in a while I decided to take the skytrain to work, normally on days where I'll be done around 5:00 pm and don't want to sit in traffic. Unfortunatly sometimes I forget that sitting in traffic in my own truck is a lot more enjoyable then riding a skytrain. First they make you pay $3.25 each way. Not too bad but then you get on the train and its like riding a bull. It shakes and wobbles all over the place. And you have to sit in these hard seats that by the end of your bull ride your ass is so sore you can barely walk. And then the even more painful part is it adds an extra 1/2 hour each way onto my commute. To sum it all up for $6.50 a day I add an extra hour onto my commute in the hardest seats on the bumpiest ride of my life. So I ask again, what was I thinking?

Rule of the road #2

Your feeling extra nice today so you slow down some to allow the guy in the right lane with his signal on to get into your lane. But he got you, he doesn't want to change lanes at all, he just hasn't turned off his blinking blinker since he merged onto the freeway 20 minutes ago!
